To protect the players (young and old) the St. Mark's Drama Ministry program is currently on hold due to Covid-19 restrictions. We will continue to monitor CDC guidelines for school-aged children and adults.
In 2019, St. Mark’s Drama Ministry celebrated 40 years of telling meaningful stories of faith and the human condition. Players of all ages (from young children to adults) communicate God’s word in bold ways by staging one or two theatrical productions each year. No experience is necessary - there is a part for everyone, either on stage or behind the scenes. The Players & Planners Committee meets regularly to provide the planning, guidance, and support that drives the drama ministry program at St. Mark’s.
Hot Buttered Popcorn is our drama ministry program for children in Kindergarten through middle school to get their first tastes of stage production. Children have a chance to learn a great story, play a character, wear a costume, sing, and dance in a safe, non-threatening environment. Recent productions include Annie, Jr. and Finian's Rainbow, Jr. The show currently in rehearsal, Friends, will be on stage April 23-26, 2020.
Spirit Section features high school students through adults who enjoy taking on roles that challenge them. Shows are often presented in the summer. Recent productions include Big Fish, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Charlie Brown, Godspell, Footloose, West Side Story and Whistle Down the Wind.
